Toasted Pecans
Are you looking for a nutritious snack that also tastes delicious? Look no further than these simple toasted pecans.
This recipe comes from my aunt in Mississippi. We make these toasted pecans every year around Christmas time. After making them this year, I thought, “Why don’t we make these yummy treats more often?” They are so easy to make and are a great snack to have on hand or to add to a salad.
Ingredients for Toasted Pecans
There are only three ingredients needed for the recipe: pecans, butter, and salt. I usually buy my pecans in bulk. They are less expensive that way.
How to Make Toasted Pecans
Wash pecans in a colander with cold water. Shake the colander.
Line a cookie sheet with heavy-duty foil. Spread the pecans on the cookie sheet. Bake the pecans for 35 minutes in a preheated 250ºF oven.
Remove from the oven and stir pecans. Bake for another 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and dot pecans with 1/2 stick of butter. Stir until melted, and the pecans are coated with butter. Sprinkle the pecans with salt. Return the cookie sheet to the oven for another 5 minutes.
Remove the cookie sheet from the oven. Pour the pecans onto three layers of paper towel and one layer on top. Let cool.
