Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Candy Bars
Chocolate chip cookies are by far the most FAVORITE dessert to bake with littles. It’s easy, fast, delicious and the kiddos feel that they actually baked their cookies by themselves. My boys are either dumping in all the ingredients, switching on the KitchenAid or rolling the cookie dough into balls to bake.
After the 100 millionth time of baking, my boy asked what else can we put in our cookies? I told him basically…..anything we want!! The more the merrier is my philosophy in ALL things in life.
A couple of weeks after Halloween we still had a bucket full of candy. I have a sweet tooth and I just couldn’t throw the extra candy away, believe me, I tried. I started to unwrap one to eat but then I didn’t stop. I decided to call the kids into the kitchen and told them we were making some chocolate chip candy cookies. I mean if we’re going to finish up the bucket of candy, might as well go out with a bang! All you have to do is cut up your favorite candy bars and add them to your favorite chocolate chip recipe at the end and fold them in. That’s it! To make a “healthier” version….. throw in some oatmeal.
Enjoy!
