Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced apples any variety will work
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  • First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Then, in a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until the ingredients are well-combined and crumbly.
  • Next, peel and slice the apples, then place them in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread the crumbly topping evenly over the apples.
  • Bake the apple crisp in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. Let the crisp cool for a few minutes before serving, as it will be very hot.
  • When it’s ready to eat, serve the apple crisp warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. It’s delicious on its own, but you can also serve it with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a sprinkle of chopped nuts.
